5+ A Day

Today Room 3 and 9 presented assembly to the whole school.  Our theme was 5+ A Day.  The two classes were outstanding.  Have a look at the song Little Green Pea that we sang and check out the amazing solo act!!!

A Visitor in Room 3!!

On Monday we came to school and found a special visitor sleeping on our classroom couch.  His name is Puff and he comes from the planet Marshmellowa.  He was exploring the universe when his space rocket ran out of fuel and crash landed at our school.  We are learning about Puff, his dog Musha, his home planet and his family.  He showed us a picture of his Dad and told us all about him.  Then we told him all about our Dads.  Look at some of the stories that we wrote.

At the Stardome

Last week the junior school went to the Stardome to start learning about the sun and moon.  While we were there some children helped the teacher to show us how the earth and moon move around the sun.

A colourful start to term 3!

This term we are beginning by learning about light and colour.  We have been learning the song 'Sing a Rainbow' this week.  Watch us sing our song and make a rainbow of colour with pretty coloured streamers.

We're Going On A Bear Hunt

We are learning about using different levels in dance this term.  Can you see us using a low level and a high level in our bear hunt dance??  Watch carefully, if you are not afraid of bears of course!!

The Wolves Are Back!

This week we have been learning about the fairy tale, Little Red Riding Hood.  We have been learning through dance.  We have been exploring different ways that the Big Bad Wolf might move in the story.  Watch some of the ways we are moving.

Fairy Tales

This term we are learning about fairy tales through dance and drama.  Today we started to talk about a new fairy tale, Little Red Riding Hood.  Mrs Keeley hid a picture from us and slowly uncovered it.  We had to guess what fairy tale was behind the screen.  Look at the words that we thought of. 

Meet Zog!!

We have been dragon crazy in Room 3, celebrating the Chinese year of the dragon. We have a very special dragon friend Zog in our classroom who was celebrating his 100th birthday on the 5th April. Over the past two weeks Room 3 have been planning his 100th birthday bash!

Whizzkid Writers Week 6

These children wrote some super stories about ice. They shared their writing and got a great, big shiny sticker. Well done Mahi, Marti and Mia!!

Black magic

Today we did a magical experiment. We each had a piece of filter paper that had a line of black marker on it. We put it in a cup with a little bit of water. The water crept up the paper. Watch these movies to see what happened next!!

Jeet the Maths Magician

Today during maths Jeet practiced writing his numbers. We thought he was amazing because he wrote all of the numbers to 100. Anton said, "Mrs Keeley, why don't we take a photo and put it on the blog so everyone can see." I thought that was a terrific idea and so did the rest of Room 3. Well done Jeet. we think you are very clever!

Billowing Balloons

We have been learning about reactions. Miss de Lautour helped us to do an experiment that showed us what happened when we mixed vinegar and baking soda in a bottle with a balloon on the top. We tested different amounts of vinegar to see what would happen. Watch the videos to see what happened.

More bubbly fun.

Today we tested using bubble bath and water as a mixture for blowing bubbles. Most of us agreed that it blew better bubbles than the dishwashing liquid. We talked about what the best bubble mixture would look like. The best bubble mixture would;

• Blow the biggest bubbles
• Blow the most bubbles
• Make bubbles that lasted for a long time
• Blow sparkly bubbles

Investigating bubble mixtures!!

Today we started to investigate bubble mixtures and predicted what liquid would make the best bubble, dishwash liquid, shampoo or bubble bath. Today we used dishwash liquid. See if you can spot our bubbles.

Meeting Our Buddies!!!!

Today we met our BIG buddies from Room 9 for the first time. It was a lot of fun. We sang some songs and really enjoyed listening to a story that our buddies read to us.
