The Mixed Up Chameleon

This week for art we watched the Eric Carle story The Mixed Up Chameleon. We are creating our own chameleons using crayon and collage. Next week we are going to add some interesting features to our mixed up chameleons. To listen to the story click on the image of the chameleon.

I see, I hear, I wonder

Going to the farm.

Yesterday we all went to Ambury Park Farm. We are learning all about farms and food. We got to see all sorts of animals and we even got to feed some. We watched a sheep getting shorn and a cow getting milk. We thought it was lots of fun to pretend that we were sheep going down the sheep shute. Can you spot some Room 15 sheep???

WE ARE UNIQUE!!!

This term we are learning about different cultures and we are staring by talking about how we are all unique. We sang this song that is all about being special and unique. Click on Barney to hear the song.

This week we have started to learn about the FORCES, PUSH and PULL.  We thought of lots of words that we use when we talk about moving things and made some wordles. 

Keep on trying!!

During book week Mrs Garton read us a story about a penguin who wanted to fly and he never gave up even though it was really tricky. This got us talking in our class about DETERMINATION and PERSEVERANCE. We know that it is really important to keep trying even if we are finding something difficult. In Room 15 we have a 'CAN DO' attitude and we always keep on trying. We liked this clip about a kiwi who doesn't give up on his dream of flying. We hope that you like it too.

Book Week

This week is literacy week at school. We are all bringing our favourite books to share with the class. We are going to be doing lots of fun activities.

When 2 Vowels Go Walking!!

In room 15 we have been learning about words that have 2 vowels together. Words like:
seat, heat, meat, plain, brain and train.
Here is a song that we like that shows us what happens when 2 vowels go out walking.

Minibeasts

We have learned so much about minibeasts and now we are finishing by learning how we can encourage helpful minibeasts into our school environment. We are having a go at planning a garden area outside of Room 15. We found this fun song called 'I like the flowers' that we would like to share with you.

Week 10 Learning

This week has been another busy week in Room 15. We have been learning all about spiders. Here are some interesting facts that we know:
1. Spiders have 8 legs.
2. Some spiders do not spin webs.
3. Most spiders have 8 eyes.
4. Some spiders are poisonous.
5. Some spiders live underwater.
We have been writing poems about spiders.
We have made spiders.
Also this week our second butterfly emerged and it was on the day that we had predicted. Another exciting thing that happened was that we got some letters from our buddies in California.

GO BANANAS!!!!

Mrs Keeley sat outside with us while we were eating our lunches and spotted some girls who were having a great conversation using their 'banana phones'. She found this song the we all just love and we hope you do to!! Just click on the banana above to listen.

A Caterpillars Life Cycle

Welcome to the world!!

In Room 15 we were so excited to welcome our beautiful monarch butterfly to the world. We had predicted that it would hatch on March 29th because we had learned that the caterpillar takes around 2 weeks to change inside of the chrysalis. The butterfly hatched bang on the 29th - aren't we clever!!!
